Technology Services

The Technology Services department supports approximately 300 users, 450 workstations (including laptops, desktops, and handheld computers), 8 different sites, and 10 Enterprise SAN (Storage Area Network) cluster solutions throughout the various Eaton ISD sites. Supported software includes the Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Windows, GroupWise, cloud computing solutions, and various other program-specific software applications appropriate to the needs of the various Eaton ISD departments.

Utilizing Polycom video conferencing equipment, Eaton ISD has been able to provide approximately 200 educators with interactive training sessions live from such locations as the Indianapolis Museum of Art, Michigan Department of Education, University of North Texas, and various other locations around the state.

The major technology training initiative of the school year is the summer Regional Technology Academy. This training opportunity offers technology training sessions, ranging from the "how-to's" of computer applications to sessions focusing on integrating technology into the classroom. In 2008, 153 teachers attended summer Regional Technology Academy sessions.

The Technology Services department supports Eaton ISD's local districts in complying with Michigan Department of Education requirements and uses database applications such as Skyward and SRSD.
