Occupational Therapy Services

Services provided to students identified as a "person with a disability" (in accordance with R340.1702 of the Revised Administrative Rules for Special Education) who is identified through the Individualized Education Program process.

Key Components Include...

  • Complete evaluation of students referred.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation relative to the needs of students, parents, teachers, and others.
  • Participate in the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) process.
  • Develop service plans including IEPC Goals and Objectives for individual students.
  • Improve ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost.
  • Assist in identifying, purchasing, and adapting assistive technology items in response to student needs.
  • Provide consultation to parents, educational personnel, physicians, etc.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, in-service trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Re-evaluate students to determine the need for continued service or if programs can be effectively managed by the family, teacher, or student.
  • Participate in ASD teams when appropriate.
  • Keep accurate and prompt records and reports.
