Related Services

Related Services are provided to students who meet special education eligibility requirements as determined by the Individualized Education Planning Team.

Assistive Technology: Services include assessment and training of students who have a need for specialized equipment or computer software for academic learning.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Consultant: Consultation is provided to classroom teachers and support staff who have students with autism. The ASD consultant serves as a liaison between local educational agencies (LEAs), parents, and community agencies. The ASD consultant is responsible for in-service training, assisting staff with educational interventions, and teaching strategies.

Occupational Therapy (OT) Services: Services are provided to students who have underdeveloped fine motor skills or difficulty processing sensory information which affect academic learning.

Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Services: Services provide instruction to students with visual impairment that will enable them to travel efficiently and safely in familiar and unfamiliar environments.

Physical Impairment and Otherwise Health Impairment (PI & OHI) Consultant Services: Provides assessment and training for students with physical impairment or other health impairment which requires technology for academic learning.

Physical Therapy (PT) Services: Services focus on mobility and underdeveloped gross motor skills which affect academic learning.

School Psychological Services: Services involve participating in evaluation teams which may include intellectual and achievement assessments. They are also part of the building intervention teams to assist teachers with intervention strategies.

School Social Work Services: Provides assessment of students and services to students and families that will assist them in dealing with issues within the school setting. The school social worker also serves as a liaison between local educational agencies (LEAs), parents, and community agencies.

Speech and Language (SLI) Services: Services include assessment of speech and language skills and providing therapy for students who meet the speech and language eligibility.

Transition Coordinator Services: Services provide staff, students, and parents in the local educational agencies (LEAs) with activities and information to assist students with transitioning from school to work.

Visually Impaired (VI) Consultant Services: Services include identification of students with visual impairment and providing technological and instructional support to eligible students.
