As a partnership of advocates, we will develop a shared vision with our students
for an independent and fulfilling life.
The Meadowview School is a public school/center based program operated by the Eaton Intermediate School District (EISD).
The Meadowview School has been in operation since 1974, serving children and young adults with developmental disabilities from the five school districts in Eaton County: Charlotte, Eaton Rapids, Grand Ledge, Maple Valley, and Potterville.
Students served: Primarily we serve SXI (severely multiply impaired), SCI (severely cognitively impaired), and MoCI (moderately cognitively impaired) students. Some Meadowview School students are eligible under other categories for services; for example AI (autism impaired) and SLI (speech and language impaired). In our Post Secondary Program we also service LD (learning disabled) and MiCI (mild cognitively impaired) students. Our students range in age from 3 to 26. When needed, students may receive homebound services. Approximately 120 students receive services and attend various programs Monday through Friday at Meadowview sites throughout the district. Students at Meadowview have an IEP based on Michigan Outcome Guides and AUEN. Students complete their school education when transition goals have been attained, or when the student reaches age 26. Nine students completed the Meadowview Programs for the 2010/2011 school year.
