Novice teachers have many of the same professional needs as the veteran teacher but they also have unique needs that are frequently addressed through specialized professional learning opportunities and specialized resources. Here are a few suggestions that might provide the information and support that you need as a new teacher.

Teacher Induction and Mentoring Program Resources

Ingham ISD New Teacher Program - In August and September of the year, Ingham ISD offers induction sessions for the novice teacher. Eaton County's novice teachers are invited to participate in those sessions. Register by clicking here.

CERTIFICATION FOR MICHIGAN'S NOVICE TEACHERS

Michigan law requires school districts to provide novice teachers 15 days of professional development during their first three years of teaching. In addition, each school district is required to provide a mentor for all new teachers with three years or less of teaching experience.
